Foetal calf serum (FCS) remains a widely used cell culture supplement with implications for reproducibility and animal welfare. To address these issues and to provide a humanised serum replacement, Scinora has developed SimplaceX based on human liver cell-derived proteins enriched with additional factors. SimplaceX is capable to fully replace FCS in standard cell culture procedures and facilitates workflows.
SimplaceX is more reproducable than any animal-derived serum and can be modified on customers request based on XplaceH, the liver cell-derived protein fraction.
The ready-to-use and sterile product is formulated as a lyophilisate that can be reconstituted within the desired base medium, which has already been used with FCS.
